Finger-print of Zimin`s killer found in flat
A finger-print of supposable murder was found in the flat of killed NTV journalist Ilya Zimin.
By information of law machinery, a bloody finger-print was revealed on switch in journalist flat. Supposedly, the murder of Zimin turned off the light while leaving the flat. It has been established that the blood on the switch may belong to the victim and the fingerprint was left by another man.
Investigation has also determined the way journalist was killed. At first the murder attempted to throttle Zimin and then hit at his head by flowerpot with palm tree. In opinion of experts, the cause of Zimin`s death became serious craniofacial trauma followed by extensive haematoma and cerebral edema.
Injured Zimin was still walking along the flat and even came out to balcony calling for help. Therefore, criminal proceedings were instituted not by article 105 (Murder) but according to article 11, part 4 of Criminal Code (Voluntary infliction of severe damage to health followed by death of victim).
It was established that notebook and mobile phone are missing in flat. Investigators suppose that those devices may contain information about the murderer. On Monday Office of Public Prosecutor demanded a list of all calls for last month from journalist`s mobile operator.
The main version of the incident remains a crime based on domestic motives. Zimin knew the criminal and let him in flat by own will.
Information about 3 men with policemen identity cards visiting Zimin at night of the murder is not trustworthy. It has been established that these people visited another flat and journalist was dead by that time.
